Abstract

Pekerja kasir adalah profesi yang memiliki risiko keluhan musculoskeletal. Lamanya jumlah jam bekerja mengakibatkan aktivitas pekerja kasir lebih banyak dihabiskan dengan berdiri. Bekerja pada posisi berdiri dalam waktu yang lama ditambah dengan pemakaian sepatu hak tinggi dapat menyebabkan terjadinya musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) yaitu berupa nyeri pada otot-otot punggung, kaki dan leher yang dirasakan oleh pekerja kasir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) pada kasir swalayan di Kota Pontianak. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Subyek penelitian adalah kasir swalayan di Kota Pontianak sebanyak 116 orang. Sampel diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah distribusi frekuensi untuk gambaran tiap variabel dan uji statistik chi-square dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α = 0,05) untuk mengetahui hubungan antara variabel. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara variabel sikap kerja (P value = 0,000), lama berdiri (P value = 0,037), pemakaian sepatu hak tinggi (P value = 0,000), waktu istirahat (P value = 0,023), masa kerja (P value = 0,000), umur (P value = 0,004), desain stasiun kerja (P value = 0,000) dengan Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh (P value = 0,079) dengan Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Disarankan kepada pekerja kasir agar bekerja dengan sikap kerja yang ergonomis yaitu dapat memperhatikan sikap berdiri selama bekerja. Kepada Perusahaan sebaiknya membuat kebijakan untuk menggunakan desain stasiun kerja yang sesuai dengan antropometri pekerjanya dan memberikan pelatihan kerja tentang risiko ergonomi di tempat kerja serta tata cara bekerja yang sesuai dengan prinsip ergonomi. "Cashier is a profession that is at risk of musculoskeletal complaints. The length of working hours leads them to stand more than to sit. Standing too long and wearing high heels during working can induce musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), that is pain in the muscles of the back, legs, and neck. This study aimed to figuring out the factors related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among supermarket’s cashiers in Pontianak. An observational analytic design and a cross sectional approach were carried out in this study. The number of the samples was selected by using total sampling technique among 116 supermarket’s cahiers in Pontianak. The data were analyzed by employing frequency distribution and a chi-square statistic test. The frequency distribution was utilized to describe each variable. While the chi-square statistic test was used to determine the correlation between variables. The study revealed two findings. First, there was correlation of body position during working (p value= 0,000), duration of standing (p value= 0,037), high heels use (p value= 0,000), break time (p value= 0,023), working period (p value= 0,000), age (p value= 0,004), working station design (p value= 0,000), and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Second, there was no correlation of body mass index (p value= 0,079) and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). From the findings, the supermarket’s cashiers are encouraged to implement ergonomic body position during working. The owners of the supermarkets are also recommended to make policy about appropriate working stations in accordance with the worker’s anthropometry. Besides, it is also regarded essential to provide job training on ergonomic risks at workplace and implement work procedures based on the principles of ergonomics"
