Abstract

Ikan tengadak termasuk ikan air tawar yang memiliki prospek cerah sebagai komoditas akuakultur, namun informasi tentang karakter fisiologisnya belum banyak diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis level aerasi yang terbaik bagi kehidupan benih ikan tengadak berdasarkan performa haematologinya. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), sebagai perlakuan adalah level aerasi, yaitu 2 L, 6 L, 10 L dan 14 L/menit/40 L air, yang level aerasinya diatur dengan sekrup pembagi yang keluar dari pipa aerator. Sebanyak 20 ekor (2,3 kg/m3) benih ikan tengadak dipelihara selama 60 hari di dalam akuarium ukuran 60x40x40 cm yang berisi 40 L air. Peubah yang diamati terdiri dari peubah kualitas air (suhu, total alkalinitas, kejenuhan oksigen, dan total amonia nitrogen) dan performa hematologi (hemoglobin, eritrosit, hematokrit dan kadar glukosa darah). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kejenuhan oksigen semakin tinggi dengan meningkatnya level aerasi, yaitu dari rata-rata 86,19% jenuh (aerasi 2 L/menit/40 L air) menjadi 106,51% jenuh (pada aerasi 14 L/menit/40 L air). Suhu air 29–31 oC., total alkalinitas air 33–45 mg/L setara CaCO3, dan kedua peubah tersebut berada pada kisaran optimal, serta nilai total amonia nitrogen (TAN) berkisar antara 1,5132 dan 2,0177 mg/L masih dapat ditoleransi oleh ikan. Aerasi 6 L, 10 L dan 14 L/menit/40 L air menghasilkan kadar hemoglobin 7,40–7,78 g/100 mL. lebih tinggi dari pada aerasi 2 L/menit/40 L air dan glukosa darah 63,00–70,25 mg/100 mL yang lebih rendah dari pada yang dihasilkan pada aerasi 2 L/menit/40 L air. Sedangkan untuk hematokrit, nilai tertinggi diperoleh pada aerasi 6 L dan 10 L/menit/40 L air, yaitu berturut-turut 42,51 dan 43,53%. Tinfoilbarbis a freshwater fish that have good prospects as a cultivation commodity, but information about its physiological character is not widely known. This study aims to analyze the effect ofwater aeration level for the life of fish juveniles based on their haematological performance. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD), as treatment was the level of aeration, namely 2 L, 6 L, 10 L and 14 L/minute/40 L water. The variables observed consisted of water quality variables (temperature, total alkalinity, oxygen saturation, and total ammonia nitrogen) and hematological performance (hemoglobin, erythrocytes, hematocrit and blood glucose levels). The results showed that oxygen saturation was higher with increasing aeration levels, ie from an average of 86.19% saturation (aeration of 2 L/min/40 L of water) to 106.51% saturation (at aeration of 14 L/min/40 L of water). The water temperature and total alkalinity were 29–31 oC and 33–45 mg/L as CaCO3 respectively and both of that variable were in the optimal range, and total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) ranges from 1.5132 and 2.0177 mg/L can still be tolerated by fish. Aeration of 6 L, 10 L and 14 L/min/40 L of water produces a hemoglobin level of 7.40–7.78 g/100 mL Higher than aeration 2 L/minute/40 L water and blood glucose 63.00– 70.25 mg / 100 mL which is lower than that produced in aeration of 2 L/min/40 L water. As for the hematocrit, the highest values were obtained at 6 L aeration and 10 L/minute/40 L water, which were 42.51 and 43.53%, respectively.
