Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kisaran suhu media pemeliharaan yang optimal terhadap laju pemangsaan dan pertumbuhan larva ikan lele. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium basah Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah larva ikan lele dumbo ukuran 0.7 cm dipelihara dalam 12 akuarium ukuran 25x25x30 cm diisi air sebanyak 15 liter dengan kepadatan 5 ekor/liter. Perlakuan suhu yang dilakukan yaitu A= suhu 260C, B=280C, C=300C dan D=320C dengan 3 kali ulangan. Rancangan yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Larva diberi pakan nauply artemia menggunakan metode ad satiasi dengan frekuensi 5 kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan larva ikan lele dumbo dapat memangsaan plankton hingga mencapai 169 ind/jam, sehingga dapat menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot spesifik sebesar 22.69%/ hari dan 33.37%/hari pada suhu optimal berkisar antara 28.75 - 300C. Sehingga suhu yang optimal untuk meningkatkan laju pemangsan plankton dan pertumbuhan larva ikan lele berkisar antara 28.75-30oC. This study aimed to figure out the optimum temperature range of fish farming media on the growth and predation rate of catfish larvae. This study wash conducted in wet laboratory of faculty of fish and marine sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak. As many as 0.7 cm in length catfish, reared in 12 aquariums (25 x 25 x 30 cm). these aquarium are filled with 15 liters of water with the density of 5 larvae/liter. While the temperature treatment was conducted in four different treatment ; A=26oC, B= 28 oC, C= 30 oC and D= 32 oC with three repetitions. A completely randomized design was applied in this study. The larvae was fed 5 times a day with nauply artemia using ad satiasi method. The study revealed that catfish could feed on planktonup to 169 ind/hour, which can lead to the growth rate of a specific lengt hand weight of 22.69%/ day and 33.37% at the optimum temperature range between 28.75 – 30 oC. Therefore, the optimum temperature recommendedin increasing the rate of catfish larval predation and growth is between 28.75 – 30 oC.
