Abstract

Lampam is a native species of some open water in West Kalimantan which have important economics’ value as a consumtion’s fish. The objective of this research was to find out the data and information of some reproduction aspects which include the length-weight relationship, sexuality, the level of gonad maturity, gonad maturity index, fecundity, egg’s diameter and water quality. About 810 individual of lampam have been caught from Kapuas river, Melawi river and Mawan lake in dry and rainy season on 2009. The result showed that no diferent sexual ratio betwen male and female of lampam in three native habitat. In dry season, generally the fish was caught have level of gonad maturity in I and II degree, but in rainy season the level of gonad maturity scattered from I until IV degree. The gonad maturity index, fecundity and egg’s diameter of lampam explained that species would spawn all of year and the maximum on rainy season.
