Abstract

Background:. The Covid-19 pandemic affects many aspects of human life, including diet (eating habits, consumption of fruit, supplements, herbs or empon-empon). The existence of the Covid-19 case is one of the factors that contributed to this change. Objective:. Knowing the picture of the eating style in Pontianak City during the Covid�19 pandemic, and differences in the existence of Covid-19 cases around with changes in diet. Methods:. Quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The study population in this study were all people in Pontianak City aged 15-64 years. A total of 382 respondents were sampled in this study using the Consecutive Sampling technique. Data collection was carried out online using the google form platform. Results:. Some respondents stated that there were differences in supplement consumption (52.9%), empon-empon consumption (57.1%), and eating habits(29.1%). There was a significant relationship between gender and empon-empon consumption (p value = 0.005; PR = 1.442). The presence of Covid-19 cases in the vicinity was significantly associated with eating habits (PR = 1.212) and supplement consumption (PR = 1.341) between before and during the pandemic (p value <0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to increase understanding in the community so that they have a balanced diet so that the immune system increases during the Covid-19 pandemic.
