Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leadership on job satisfaction of civil servants in Pontianak City PUPR Service. The population in this study were all civil servants in the Pontianak City PUPR Service with a total sample of 87 respondents. Data analysis techniques used are simple linear regression analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis and model feasibility test (F test). The results of the simple linear regression analysis show the simple linear regression equation is: Y = 1.952 + 0.494 X. The correlation coefficient results show an R value of 0.456, so it can be concluded that leadership has a strong enough relationship with job satisfaction of employees in the Department of Public Works PUPR Pontianak. The results of the coefficient of determination show the R2 value of 0.208 which means that 20.8% of job satisfaction of employees in the Department of PUPR Pontianak is influenced by leadership and the remaining 79.2% is influenced by other variables outside this study. The model feasibility test results show the calculated F value of 22.332> F table 3.95, and has a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05), then it can be concluded that a simple linear regression model can be used to predict job satisfaction of civil servants in Pontianak City PUPR Office that is influenced by leadership.
