Abstract

Mother’s mortality rate the risks that will appear among the pregnant women along their pregnancy and delivering the babies. This can be infuenced by mother’s nutritional state, economic social state, and others. The one of ways to reduce mother’s and infant’s mortality rate was delay the pregnancy, that can increase the healthy state of the both of mother and infant.Therefore, the government was implement the family planning program or Keluarga Berencana (KB). The purpose of this research is to know the factors influencing the use of IUD and to know the relationship between the factors (knowledge, attitude of the respondents, husband support, age and education state) with the use of IUD in Work Area of Dara Juanti Public Health Center. The desaign of this research is cross sectional. The samples were 89 respondents that choosen by random sampling. The result was statistically tested by Chi-square method, which shown that there was a correlation between knowledge with the use of IUD, reflected by (p-value 0,000).. There was a correlation between husband support with the use of IUD, reflected by (p- value 0,000). There was a correlation between age of respondents with the use of IUD, reflected by( p- value 0,002). There was a correlation between attitude of respondents with the use of IUD, reflected by p- value 0,000, There was no correlation between education of respondent with the use of IUD, reflected by (p- value 0,077). This research recommends that the health service should be more frequent to educate about family planning program, especially the Intra Uterine Device (IUD) with direct meeting, electronic media or some social media.
