Abstract
Background: Data on exclusive breastfeeding coverage in West Kalimantan province in 2014 was 49.5%, in 2015 there was a decrease of 46.25%, in 2016 it decreased by 36.75%, and in 2017 it increased by 51.88%. (West Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, 2016). Meanwhile, in the Sintang Regency, the exclusive ASI achievement experienced a ups and downs every year where in 2014 it was 38.54%, in 2015 it increased by 46.25%, in 2016 there was a decrease of 36.75% and in 2017 it was 51, 88% Research Objectives: To determine the behavioral factors causing the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in the work area of Sintang District Health Center in 2018. Research Method: This type of research is quantitative, which explains the causal relationship between variables through testing hypotheses. The research design used was cross sectional. The sample in this study were all infants aged 6-12 months totaling 68 from March to December 2017. The results of the study: There is a relationship between knowledge, work, cultural values, family support, health worker support and the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding at the Sintang District Health Center in 2018 (p = 0,000). Suggestion: Conduct once-month counseling directly to mothers who have babies and do not sell formula milk at the place where midwives practice in villages Put up banners on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants 0-6 months
