Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the exchange rate (IDR / USD), inflation, SBI interest rates (BI rate), the money supply (M2), and the price of crude oil (Brent Blend) on the stock prices of companies in the basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the IDX in 2015-2018. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The data used are annual data in the form of time series from 2015-2018. The sampling uses a purposive sampling technique in order to obtain 61 companies in basic and chemical industry sectors. Data analysis techniques used are multiple linear regression analysis, multiple correlation coefficient, coefficient of determination, simultaneous influence test (F-test), and partial influence test (ttest). The results of the multiple correlation coefficient indicate that there is a very strong relationship between the exchange rate (IDR / USD), inflation, SBI interest rates (BI rate), the money supply (M2), and the price of crude oil (Brent Blend) with stock prices of companies in the basic industrial sector and chemistry with a correlation value of 0.928. The results of the coefficient of determination indicate the contribution or contribution of independent variables to the dependent variable of 84.40%, and the remaining 15.6% is influenced by factors or other variables not included in this research model. The F-test results show all independent variables simultaneously have a significant influence on the dependent variable. The t-test results show the money supply (M2) and the price of Brent crude oil partially have a significant influence on stock prices, while the exchange rate (IDR / USD), inflation, and SBI interest rates (BI rate) partially have no significant influence on company stock prices basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the IDX.
